DT Swiss has long been regarded as the premiere hub, spoke and rim manufacturer in the world. In 2004, the Swiss company introduced their first complete wheelset and became the first in the bicycling industry to offer a complete range of bicycle wheel components. DT is set to change the game, once again, with their new line of Tricon wheels for the road and on the trails. What sets the Tricon wheels apart from its competition is it's Two-Piece hub design which allows the bearing to sit free of tension allowing the bearings to spin as smooth as possible. The Straight-Pull Double Threaded Spoke connection is a considerably stronger setup as it eliminates the play from both ends of the wheel making subject to smaller peak loads. Everything including the Star Ratchet system along with Torx designed nipples and an Open Crowfoot lacing pattern put the Tricon wheels in a league of their own in terms or torque, durability and workability. DT Swiss puts a stark emphasis on parts materials and assembly and will not forfeit quality in the name of jaw-droppingly low weights. At 1450g for the road set and 1550g for the 26" set, the Tricon's aren't breaking any records in the featherweight class but they are respectable nonetheless. If you're the kind of driver that would buy a Volvo before a Benz, then the Tricon line of wheels are right down your driveway. The 26" mountain wheelset is available as a standard Quick Release or a 15mm thru axle design and be on the look out in the not ...
